    • Groovy looking at the now old shit. Price differences are interesting. Social differences are easily obvious for the informed AND the uninformed. A huge difference twixt then and now is how much more content back then was geared to folks creating, repairing, etc. their own shit. You old fucks recall the various varieties of Bradley kit cars using a VW Bug chassis? THe one perversion that looked akin to a mini- Rolls-Royce was bitchin'. None in the mag but I saw a couple in real life.

Shit changes. Technology marches on. Quadraphonic audio was in its infancy. The quality decoders had not been invented yet. The early shit could create a pleasing ambience but it would be a few more IC chips later before the all-encompassing soul-stirring quad struck soundly. Get it, fuckers? "struck soundly." Fuck I am a clever fucker. Fuck.

    • A timely arrival at one of the local thrift stores places an awesome chunk of electronic audio quality into my domain. For the miserly sum of $4.84 (no tax at the for-charity thrift store) I glided out of the place and eagerly drove through driver idiocy with nary a collision.

I tested the unit at the store and the radio functioned exquisitely. Will check out the tape at a later date out of mere curiosity since all I lust for is the FM radio output. Typical Sony quality for that era... 1980s vintage. The reception is excellent and the stereo enervates the essence. This unit will be replacing the last thrift store radio whose audio quality is inferior to this Sony. No baloney. The unit will serve my audio lust while shaving and taking showers.
