    • I miss being green how bout you
Nice, all 8! Careful not to touch the hosab.

I don't do fine dining any more, but used to get fresh parsley at cheap places. Never knew that it was a palate cleanser til in my 20's, but liked eating it at family dining places as a kid. That's what it's for, right?

Just woke up, and having coffee, otherwise would be very hungry seeing your pic. My sleep gets really fucked up when I take a break from drinking.

    • OxyContin maker will stop marketing opioid products to doctors amid scrutiny
The maker of the painkiller OxyContin will stop marketing its opioid products to doctors.

Purdue Pharmaceuticals announced that it would cut its sales staff by more than half and would stop sending sales representatives to doctors offices to discuss opioid products.

"We have restructured and significantly reduced our commercial operation and will no longer be promoting opioids to prescribers," the company said in a statement.

Purdue also said it will start referring opioid-related requests and questions from prescribers to health care professionals in its medical affairs department.

    • 1 in 10 Babies Disabled Due to Mom's Drinking: Study
As many as one in 10 children in the United States have some type of disability due to their mother's drinking during pregnancy, according to a new study led by the University of California, San Diego.

"Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders we think are the most common cause of neurobehavioral problems in children worldwide," Christina Chambers, Ph. D., Professor of Pediatrics, UC San Diego said.

The study looked at 6,000 first graders in four different U.S. Regions: the Midwest, Southeast, Rocky Mountains and Pacific Southwest, which included San Diego.

The researchers sampled the students for two academic years from 2010 to 2016.

    • Evangelical Trump adviser tells people to skip flu shots in favor of prayer
Islamic clerics in Africa also opposed polio vaccines and allowed polio to re-proliferate after it had almost been eradicated. Christianity and Islam are both brimming over with this kind of bullshit.

Fuck them both. And let both Christians and Muslims who believe in this bullshit skip their vaccinations. Natural selection in action.

    • Sex addiction IS an illness, doctors insist
      http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5320899/Sex-addiction-illness-doctors-insist.html

Calls to classify sex addicts as 'mentally ill' have triggered a row among doctors and campaigners helping victims of predators like Harvey Weinstein.

Eleven senior specialists, in a letter to the World Psychiatric Association, are pressing for compulsive sexual behaviour to be recognised as a mental disorder in its own right.

But the proposal was last night condemned by those who fear it will allow sexual misconduct to be blamed on a medical condition. Rachel Krys, from the charity End Violence Against Women, said: 'We absolutely object to anything that condones harmful sexual behaviour to others, mainly women.'

    • Teen's suicide caused by flu medication, family says
      https://nypost.com/2018/01/31/teens-suicide-caused-by-flu-medication-family-says/

The family of an Indiana teen who committed suicide says his flu medication may be the reason.

Charlie Harp, who lived in Franklin Township, was diagnosed with the flu Thursday and prescribed the antiviral drug Tamiflu, news station WXIN reported.

Hoping to recover quickly, the 16-year-old immediately began the medication, according to his family.

"We started it right in the car, get it in him and get him started," his aunt and legal guardian, Jackie Ray, told WXIN.

Ray said they weren't properly warned about the medication's potential side effects, which can include confusion or abnormal behavior with pediatric patients.

    • Nutritionist claims pizza is a healthier breakfast than cereal
Looking to start your day off with a nutritious meal? Forget Cheerios. Instead, reach for a slice of pizza, says one dietitian.

On Monday, blogger and dietitian Chelsey Amer caused a stir when she told the Chicago Tribune that a greasy slice of pizza is healthier than a bowl of cereal with milk.

"You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories," Amer said. "However, pizza packs a much larger protein punch, which will keep you full and boost satiety throughout the morning."

She acknowledges that pizza isn't necessarily a health food, but maintains that it's a more balanced meal than a typical bowl of sugar flakes.

But don't take that as license to turn Papa John's into a breakfast staple. New York-based dietitian Keri Gans says that cereal can be a perfectly healthy breakfast option - yes, healthier than pizza - as long as you're smart about it.

"Cereal can absolutely be a vehicle for getting important nutrients into your diet to start your day off right," Gans tells The Post.

    • Utah leaders have long sought to play a central role in the anti-pornography movement, but the state's most well-known attempt to strike down smut did not go so well.

The state's much-lampooned "porn czar" only lasted a few years in the early 2000s before the position was scratched in budget cuts. Last week Utah legislators eliminated the statute permitting the state attorney general to employ such a prosecutor.

"It's not the job of the government to sit in a dark room and review porn," said Utah state Rep. Michael McKell, R-Spanish Fork, the House sponsor of the bill that eliminated the czar - who, he stressed, was not intended to be an obscenity nanny in the first place.

But Utah's anti-erotica ambitions have not waned. The tactics have just changed. In this heavily religious state, the fight against porn is increasingly being framed not as a moral crusade but as a public health crisis. Although there is significant debate on whether that is actually true, Utahns have been a very receptive audience to the message.
